I'm a talented, versatile, sexy and sassy independent singer/songwriter with a unique blend of Pop, Dance, Hip Hop, R&B and Funk that is fresh, exciting and new. I call it "POP HOP".

I began songwriting at about 12 years old due to boredom I encountered by commercial radio stations. You know, the same songs every hour with commercials breaking the monotony. In October 1997, I was given the opportunity to "break free" onstage at a Karaoke bar in Metairie, La. I sang my heart out and got recognized for my vocal ability, stage presence and personality. The feeling that came over me, while I was on that stage was incredible!!!! At first, I was nervous, but hearing the applause after singing my 1st song and getting cheered on to sing again, the nervousness left me. I had found my passion--performing. Shortly afterwards (Dec.'98), I was asked to join a cover band "POWER SURGE" as lead female vocalist. Joining that band opened the door for me as a professional vocalist. In Feb.'00, "POWER SURGE" fell apart, so I joined another band "JUST CHILLIN'" as lead female vocalist. Throughout my time with both bands, I tried to persuade the musicians of both bands to perform originals (after all, anyone can sing cover songs. Originals would create attention which would create popularity which would create a fanbase which would hopefully create sales). They were comfortable with covers. Unfortunately, both bands fell apart, which encouraged me to form my own original/cover band "JDK".

"JDK" came out full-force February 27,2001 (Mardi Gras Day). The "baby" had been born. Eventually, the same problems that caused the other 2 bands to die sneaked into "JDK". Musicians left and were replaced by others who were replaced by others who eventually decided to not show up for a gig one night. The band had died before my eyes (Feb.'02). However, I refused to give up. So, Feb.'02 was my wake-up call to go solo. I became known as, and continued my career as, a solo artist.
I began working on my 1st solo CD "THAT STAR ABOVE". In July '02, I had completed the project.

MY MOTTO: "NEVER give up on your dreams, no matter how long it takes to achieve them".

I hope everyone will enjoy the songs that I have recorded on the CD. They are a reflection of my soul and my life.

WWW.NEWORLEANSBANDS.COM has chosen to feature me as their October 2002 Featured Artist!!!! This happened only a few days after I submitted material to them!!!! I was told by one of the people in charge of the website that I was chosen after they read my email because I show willpower to succeed in this industry and after listening to my music, they noticed that I truly have my own style.
